Auditorium

This Auditorium building is set in the prestigious Mulholland Pass area of Los Angeles.  The roof system is composed of seventeen identical 8-3/4” x 40-1/2” x 65’ clear span glulam beams that weigh nearly 3 tons each.  Each member was prebuilt to their exact dimensions and cuts, shipped to Los Angeles and painstakingly lifted into place, one by one using a crane.  The rest of the roof, 4x6 members and ¾” plywood sheathing, was set again piece by piece following the large curve in the glulam member.  When completed the roof sets a stunning backdrop to any event with nearly 10,000 square feet of area free from any columns.  With this project, we actually built a smaller mock section first, which was later demolished, so the owner could see what the finished project would look like.
